Copying Behaviour of Expressive Motion

چکیده
In this paper we present an agent that can analyse certain human fullbody movements in order to respond in an expressive manner with copying behaviour. Our work focuses on the analysis of human full-body movement for animating a virtual agent, called Greta, able to perceive and interpret users’ expressivity and to respond properly. Our system takes in input video data related to a dancer moving in the space. Analysis of video data and automatic extraction of motion cues is done in EyesWeb. We consider the amplitude and speed of movement. Then, to generate the animation for our agent, we need to map the motion cues on the corresponding expressivity parameters of the agent. We also present a behaviour markup language for virtual agents to define the values of expressivity parameters on gestures.

Emotion Communication via Copying Behaviour: A Case Study with the Greta Embodied Agent
This paper investigates emotion communication via copying behaviour in an embodied virtual agent. Copying takes place at the expressive level, where motion qualities are considered, rather than exact low-level motion matching. We present an experiment that investigates (1) the extent to which people can recognise the emotion expressed by the agent’s copying behaviour, and (2) whether and how th...
متن کاملAnalysis of Emotional Gestures for the Generation of Expressive Copying Behaviour in an Embodied Agent
This paper presents a system capable of acquiring input from a video camera, processing information related to the expressivity of human movement and generating expressive copying behaviour of an Embodied Agent. We model a bi-directional communication between user and agent based on real-time analysis of movement expressivity and generation of expressive copying behaviour: while the user is mov...
متن کاملEvaluating the Communication of Emotion via Expressive Gesture Copying Behaviour in an Embodied Humanoid Agent
We present an evaluation of copying behaviour in an embodied agent capable of processing expressivity characteristics of a user’s movement and conveying aspects of it in real-time. The agent responds to affective cues from gestures performed by actors, producing synthesised gestures that exhibit similar expressive qualities. Thus, copying is performed only at the expressive level and informatio...
متن کاملMechanical behaviour of motion for the two-dimensional monolayer system
In this paper we study the dynamics of the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer. First we consider the usual physical time component and the plan manifold R2, having the polar coordinates. Then a geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to a problem from the two dimensional geometric dynamics of the Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer. We consider a constraint sub...
متن کاملDiscrete Random Walks on One-Sided "Periodic" Graphs
In this paper we consider discrete random walks on infinite graphs that are generated by copying and shifting one finite (strongly connected) graph into one direction and connecting successive copies always in the same way. With help of generating functions it is shown that there are only three types for the asymptotic behaviour of the random walk. It either converges to the stationary distribu...
